Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, Craig graduated from UW Madison in 1981 with degrees in Finance and Real Estate. Starting his 44-year business career in commercial real estate and construction in Milwaukee, Craig moved to Detroit for a short time and then Chicago where he and his wife, Sue, reside today. After spending 10-years with Trammell Crow Company, a national development company, Craig Co-founded Development Solutions, Inc. (DSI), and DST Interests, LLC, a commercial general contractor and development and investment firm, respectively.

He sold his interest in DSI in late 2020 and retired to focus his time in philanthropy, joining Operation Deployed, Inc. to provide care packages to our deployed military and assisting Wounded Warrior Project in planning and coordinating veteran activities in Chicago.

As a life-long Badger, Craig continued his UW-Madison involvement as President of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association and recently, President of the Badger Men's Rugby Alumni Association.
